What I did find was a work around, and while not flawless it does get the job done fairly well.
First thing first, go to Layout>Page Elements and select a location to add a new gadget. Search your basic tab for the Feed gadget shown below:

Add content from an RSS or Atom feed to your blog.
By Blogger
Then you need to assign an RSS feed URL linking to your posts or comments. An example of my post feed is below. You will need to change your own blog name for it to work with your blog. And if you want to see comments, then change /posts/full to comments/full.
